Throughout Malane Newman’s employment of 15 years as lead designer with Accenture Corporation (formerly
known as Andersen Consulting), she has designed and created the art for extremely large, custom
Computer-Based Training (CBT) and and Web-Based Training (WBT) programs for all of their Fortune 500 clients
throughout the world, in several languages, and on different subject matters.
With all of this experience and exposure, she has become very knowledgeable about Instructional System
Development (ISD) methodology and practices.
Each CBT program would consist of designing custom graphical user interfaces (or gui) and include several
hundred pieces of conceptual art and interactive art. There were numerous screen layouts for testing,
answer feedback, scoring, introduction, tutorials, splash screens, multi-layer menus, title screens,
glossaries, among many others…
In the latter years of her employment with Accenture, she took on an additional role as Creative Director
and was responsible for estimating and managing the visual aspect of these projects. This gave her
additional knowledge, experience, and understanding of ‘how’ to produce these large projects on time and
within budget.
