VISION Learning Systems Architecture depends upon having a supply of consistently designed Independent Learning Objects to deploy. To maintain consistency, each Independent Learning Object has a built-in learning strategy.

You can think of VISION’s built-in learning strategies like this: It is as if each Independent Learning Object has a “resident instructor” standing ready to present the content to your learners in the best possible way.

  • Introduction


  • Main Idea


  • Explanation


  • Examples/Demonstrations


  • Practice/Practice Feedback
Together, this series of instructional components comprise a learning strategy that varies depending upon the type of content contained in the learning object.

Each instructional component fulfills a specific purpose in the learning strategy.
  • The Introduction orients the learner to the purpose and value of the content
  • The Main Idea states the content contained in the learning object in its most concise form
  • The Explanation elaborates on the Main Idea, providing more information on each point
  • The Examples/Demonstrations allow the learner to experience a realistic sample of the Main Idea without requiring any interaction
  • The Practice and Practice Feedback allow the learner to apply the Main Idea in a realistic setting, and find out how well they performed
Depending upon the type of content, these components may appear with different formats, but their instructional purpose remains the same for all content.
